    What is TPU?

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a flexible, rubber-like filament that combines the elasticity of rubber with the durability of plastic. Its exceptional wear resistance and ability to absorb impacts make it perfect for flexible applications.

    Why Choose TPU?

    • Extremely flexible and elastic (Shore 85A-95A)
    • Excellent abrasion and wear resistance
    • Good chemical resistance
    • Resistant to impacts and vibration
    • Perfect for functional flexible parts

    Critical Tips

    • Direct Drive Required: Bowden setups struggle with flexible filament
    • Print Slow: 15-30mm/s max to prevent binding
    • Minimal Retraction: Too much retraction causes jamming
    • Tension: Reduce extruder tension to prevent filament squishing
    • Store Dry: TPU absorbs moisture quickly

    Shore Hardness

    • 95A: Stiff, easier to print
    • 90A: Medium flexibility
    • 85A: Very flexible, challenging

    Best Applications

    • • Phone cases
    • • Gaskets and seals
    • • Wheels and tires
    • • Flexible joints
    • • Wearable devices
    • • Vibration dampeners
