    The Bambu Lab A1 Mini is an open-frame CoreXY printer with a 180×180×180mm build volume. It uses a direct drive extruder and supports the AMS Lite for up to 4-color printing.     AMS Lite Tips for Multi-Color Printing

    Use only PLA or PETG in AMS Lite

    The AMS Lite is designed for PLA and PETG. Silk PLA works in most cases. Avoid TPU (too flexible — it jams in the buffer), ABS, ASA, or Nylon.

    Match brands and diameters

    Mixing different brands in one multi-color print is fine as long as all spools are 1.75mm. Diameter inconsistency between brands causes the AMS to mis-feed.

    Purge tower waste is normal

    Multi-color prints generate a purge tower — a block of mixed filament that cleans the nozzle between color swaps. Budget 15-30% extra filament for multi-color jobs.

    Bambu filaments need least calibration

    Bambu Lab PLA/PETG have RFID chips that auto-load profiles in Bambu Studio. Third-party filaments work fine but require a manual profile or using the generic PLA/PETG preset.
